Do your re-gift

When my wife and I got married we did what almost every couple did which was register at various stores for china, utensils, and other items you need when starting out. We went through a few wedding showers and got exactly what we had put down on the list along with a few wedding accessories. Unfortunately someone gave us a wedding gift that we thought was a video rewinder. While it was a nice idea we just looked at the box and never bothered to open the box, and cordially sent them a thank you for the great VHS rewinder. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that we got a message back from the couple who gave us this interesting gift to let us know that what was in the box was not what we thought. They has actually gotten us a crystal picture frame with our names and wedding date. The embarrassing part is that my wife and I re-gifted the item to another couple and could not ask them for the item. The other couple actually never said anything about the frame so we can only assume that they too have passed on our wedding frame.
