There are some basic tools that are needed for mountain climbers that we are all familiar with such as a compass, hand tools, flashlight, and a first aid kit. One thing I was not aware of that many hikers carry when going into higher altitudes is a finger pulse oximeter. This device is to help measure your oxygen level and heart rate so that you can lower the risk of getting in trouble and passing out. In order to make sure that your body is adjusting to the altitude you can simply use one of these devices and make any necessary adjustments or stop and rest to avoid any potential harm to your body.
