There’s a big deal made about batteries these days. You can take in your bad car batteries and get about 4 or 5 bucks for each one. This is an effort being made to try and rid our landfills of car batteries and I assume the small disposable batteries aren’t too far behind this type of refund. There might already be a program in place like this, but I just wonder how much could be paid for a double “A” battery or 9 volt battery? It could add up to a nice piece of change if people held on to about a dozen or so of their dead batteries. Changing all those batteries out of the smoke detectors every 6 months and the ones the remote controls use up; would be a lot of batteries the normal household could save each year. I think for now the best route that people could take is just to break down and get some of those rechargeable batteries. It would pay-off in the long run!
