This Christmas we are going to finally be upgrading our camera and have been looking through various review sites and specials to see which one we should actually purchase. There are your basic point and shoot digital cameras and then the more advanced DSLR cameras. The point and shoots are nice in that they are compact and very user friendly. The problem is that all the ones that we have seen and our current point and shoot camera seem to have that lag between photos which has always been a big irritation. This happens when most when we are trying to capture moments at our kids games or at a family get together and it seems like we are always waiting for the camera to get ready to take the next photo. The DSLR cameras solve this issue, but are starting at around $500 and are somewhat bulky. With all the major retailers trying to attract customers with early sale prices you may actually be able to shop online and get those Black Friday sale prices without the hassle of having to get up at 3 AM in the morning and fighting with strangers over the latest Wii game. This year for our kids they are asking for various electronics and some of the newest Wii titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. I saw a bundled game with the Wii remote pistol. There’s a big deal made about batteries these days. You can take in your bad car batteries and get about 4 or 5 bucks for each one. This is an effort being made to try and rid our landfills of car batteries and I assume the small disposable batteries aren’t too far behind this type of refund. There might already be a program in place like this, but I just wonder how much could be paid for a double “A” battery or 9 volt battery? It could add up to a nice piece of change if people held on to about a dozen or so of their dead batteries. Changing all those batteries out of the smoke detectors every 6 months and the ones the remote controls use up; would be a lot of batteries the normal household could save each year. I think for now the best route that people could take is just to break down and get some of those rechargeable batteries. It would pay-off in the long run!
