Radio Wi-Fi Player

posted by admin

personalized_radioWe just ran across what is being touted as the worlds first personal radio player. The Slacker 40 Station/8GB Wi-Fi Radio Player allows you to take over 2 million songs from 100 different categories and create your own free radio player. The device can simply be connected via a wi-fi connection to get updates and the latest all for free. Now let me clarify that the free slacker service is their basic package and if you want more control over your music then you can subscribe to their service for only $7.50 per month which is less than satellite radio. The advantage that this gives you is that you can actually download your top 40 radio stations through the Slacker front end and have endless amounts of music.

slackerThis great little player is currently on sale at buy.com for only $69.99 with free shipping which is a savings of over $230.00. I like this idea and will look to make a purchase since I am on the road quite a bit and getting stations out in the far reaches of our state can be challenging so with this nifty little device I can just get everything synched up and hit the road. I have used their service on my Iphone and it is pretty cool to have all that music at your fingertips the only issue with the iPhone App is that you need to be on a wi-fi spot or you get choppy sound. So the Slacker portable device instead fills up the 8gb with music while you are connected to a wi-fi connection instead of relying on streaming music which can be a challenge in a lot of areas. What is even better for those that do not have time to download a ton of music once you select the stations that match your music taste all the hard work is done for you so you can just set back and listen. And yes you can skip through songs, pause and put it on random play just like you would with your iPod or current MP3 player. This should make some people very happy that have trouble with satellite or just need another option other than their MP3 player.
