The effects of cerebral palsy

   Posted by: admin   in Education

I was doing some reading on a neurological disorder called cerebral palsy. There are basically three types of cerebral palsy which are:

  • Spastic CP ? characterized by stiffness of the body parts and decreased mobility
  • Athetoid CP ? marked by uncontrolled, involuntary movements
  • Ataxic CP ? primary symptoms include unsteady gait, with decreased balance and depth perception

This is usually detected in early childhood and has several causes one unfortunately that can be caused by negligence at the time of birth where the brain is deprived of oxygen that can be a factor in long term neurological disorders. It could also be attributed to insufficient development of the brain and this can be genetic or resulting from the mothers activities such as those that drink or smoke during pregnancy. If you suspect that your child was harmed by someone else’s negligence you have option that can help you seek damages.
