My wife and I had the pleasure of staying in a bed and breakfast a few months ago and I was amazed at how friendly and nice the place was. It truly was like living in someones home where they fixed breakfast and lunch, and everyone could eat together. The rooms were immaculate and each one had their own simple theme. The best part is that it was away from the hustle and bustle and really gave us a chance to reconnect with each other. There is nothing like getting a new garage and having a place to store all your tools. You can have the best garage in the neighborhood but if your tools are just laying on top of shelves and tool boxes it looks like a mess.  I am in the process of purchasing new stainless steel drawers to hold my tools. I love the look that I saw a long time on the sit-com “Tool Time”. Tim had a great system for tool storage and it always seemed that he had all the tools anyone could want. While I am not into all the power tools I do have your basic cordless drills, router saws, and drill bits. Having all this organized will make my garage look better than all my tools just laying every where.

The High School musical show that has been produced by Disney has been an unbelievable success. There is now a movie planned with several follow on shows that will follow Troy and Gabriella in their high school journey. This year for Halloween my daughter told me she wanted to be a giraffe. I am not sure why or what prompted her to want to be a giraffe but it sounded harmless enough. The costume was going to be a challenge since all we could find were the latest action heroes, princess costumes, or witches. The other morning, on Saturday, I woke up to a blinding light shining in my face. I was noticing that after staying in a hotel the night before that our room was leaking sunlight through our Blinds. So my wife and I decided that we were going to invest in some room darkening blinds in order to not be woken up so early and be able to sleep in during the weekends. It was amazing at how much better we felt when we were staying at the hotel and were able to sleep in and not be woken up early by light poking through the holes of our blinds. Although I must admit that we could have slept in much longer, but thankfully we had a full day planned for sight seeing and the zoo so sleeping in was not in the cards.

The trip to Hana can be found on Maui and one that I recommend, but ready to use your indy road car skills. Maui is actually an island formed by two volcano’s and looks something like a figure eight. The eastern half is the younger and larger part of the island with Mount Haleakala as it’s volcano. This side of Maui is both wetter and drier than the western side of the island. It is wetter on the Northern shore and drier on the Southern shore. The North side of the island is not the tourist section, but the road to Hana is famous. This is a tropical drive that you need to take at least once. With all the rain you get on this part of the island, you will see numerous waterfalls and will be on a road that has over 500 hairpin turns and 50 one lane bridges. The trip is 52 miles long, but will take from 2 to 4 hours to make on highway 360 (Hana Highway). Finding real estate is easier than driving the road to Hana and much more relaxing too.
