How do fireworks work

We were at a baseball game the other night and they were shooting off fireworks after the game and they were pretty cool. My kids starting asking how they make the colors and different shapes with fireworks. I know that it is a mixture of differnt gunpowders, but after that I was unsure. So I was able to find this nice little video that helped me to show my kids exactly how things work.
