CMUThought Community Thought 100 day Challenge

My kids have been on the prowl for the newest Webkinz since they were introduced to them by a friend a week ago. The Webkinz is a stuffed animal that can be found at specialty card shops and they come with a tag that has a special code that you enter online. The code enables you to see your pet online and then you can purchase toys, furniture, and food for them. I am interested to see how this plays out from a marketing standpoint as they do no advertising and it seems to be mostly word of mouth. The only fee is the $9.99 to purchase the pet. What they have done is launched a few new pets every couple of weeks which keeps the excitement level up. They can be found at www.webkinz.com and the stuffed animals at your local Hallmark shop.
